Description
Onija stands among the primary antagonists in SSSS.Dynazenon, a member of the Kaiju Eugenicists alongside Juuga, Mujina, and Sizumu. Physically, he ranks as the group's second tallest, marked by crimson eyes and matching hair styled to cover his right eye. His attire adheres to the Eugenicists' signature look, featuring three pink stripes on the right sleeve and a shirt tucked beneath his belt. Distinctive piercings decorate his left ear, accompanied by rings on his left middle finger and right index finger.
His personality burns with fiery impulsiveness and outward emotion, frequently erupting in unrestrained vocal opinions. Gauma explicitly brands him an "idiot" for this lack of control. Onija harbors particularly intense hatred toward Gauma for deserting their group 5,000 years prior, fueling his persistent vow to kill him. Juuga often intervenes to restrain Onija's emotionally driven actions. His origins trace back 5,000 years when the Kaiju Eugenicists, including Gauma, used kaiju control to bring prosperity to a kingdom, earning the title "dragon controllers." This era collapsed in mutual betrayal: the kingdom turned against the Eugenicists as they simultaneously betrayed the kingdom. During the conflict, Gauma shifted loyalty to the princess and killed his comrades, including Onija. All Eugenicists were later revived in the modern era, where Onija brands Gauma a traitor for piloting Dynazenon against their kaiju.
Throughout the series, Onija participates in Eugenicist kaiju attacks, including those involving Shalbandes and Greyjhom. He employs "Instance Domination" on Burnaddon to destroy Dynazenon, but the kaiju's defeat results in debris nearly crushing him—a recurring near-death gag. Later, he temporarily abandons the group seeking alternative methods to destroy humanity, leading to arrest after attempting to steal a police officer's gun. Imprisoned during Gagula's assault, he rejoins the Eugenicists to use Instance Domination on the kaiju. In a final act of allegiance, they allow themselves to be devoured by Gagula to power its evolution. Onija perishes when Gagula is destroyed by Gridknight and Dynarex, expressing disbelief at his death after surviving numerous prior incidents.
