Mint Clark is a young girl who comes to the Howard Resort on holiday with her grandfather. She is characterized by her short pink hair and purple eyes, and she is almost never seen without her stuffed bear named Choco, which she carries around with her at all times. Her initial encounter with the series' protagonist, Rio Rollins, occurs when she explores the resort while her grandfather enjoys the casino. Soon after meeting Rio, a man named Orlin Dunhill attempts to take Choco from Mint, but Rio intervenes and protects her. Orlin later challenges Rio to a poker game for the bear, which Rio wins, allowing Mint to keep her beloved toy. From that point forward, Mint becomes a close friend of Rio and frequently follows her around, consistently expressing admiration for Rio's compelling charm and often bestowing sincere commendations upon her. Mint's role in the story is primarily that of a supportive companion. She does not participate in Gate Battles, the central competitions of the series, nor does she hold one of the legendary Gates.
