TV-Series
Description
Bei is a minor antagonist in the Toriko series, known by the epithet Omnivorous Bei. He is a member of the Gourmet Corp., also known as the Bishokukai, serving as a subordinate within the organization's 6th Branch. His character is defined by his gluttony, his cruelty, and his role in a pivotal event that fuels the protagonist's drive.

In terms of background, Bei is a humanoid male with a distinct and monstrous appearance. He has green skin, a goblin-like face with bulging veins and eyes, and a mouth filled with sharp teeth. His typical attire is minimal, consisting only of a pair of black shorts. Later in the series, after the Regal Mammoth Arc, his body undergoes a dramatic physical change, becoming gigantic and far more muscular, and he grows two small horns on his head.

Bei's personality is driven by an insatiable and perverse appetite. As his nickname suggests, he is an omnivore with very low standards, even chasing after a disgusting-looking Butt Bug to eat it. This leads his own comrade, Starjun, to comment on his bad taste. His gluttony is coupled with a sadistic and lecherous nature. He shows no remorse for his violent actions and is excited by the suffering of others, notably expressing a perverse interest in the "delicious" thighs of the character Rin, implying a cannibalistic tendency.

Bei's primary motivation is his own consumption and amusement. He appears to be driven by a desire to eat anything and everything, regardless of its appeal, and to indulge his violent impulses. His role in the story, while brief, is significant. He is the Gourmet Corp. operative responsible for piloting a GT Robo during an attack on the Gourmet Coliseum. It is during this attack that he callously kills the mother of a young Battle Wolf, a creature that would later be named Terry Cloth and become a close companion to the protagonist, Toriko. This act directly instigates Toriko's furious battle against Bei's robotic suit.

Key relationships for Bei are primarily with his fellow Gourmet Corp. members. He operates alongside partners named Dohsa and Zyper, and the three of them confront Rin together during the Cooking Festival Arc. His relationship with his superiors is one of subordination, as he follows orders to attack the coliseum and later to invade the Cooking Festival.

In terms of development, Bei undergoes little to no personal growth as a character. He remains a consistently grotesque and villainous figure whose main purpose is to serve as an obstacle. His most notable change is the physical transformation he undergoes, becoming larger and presumably stronger, but his personality and motivations remain static.

Regarding notable abilities, Bei is highly skilled at piloting a standard GT Robo, a large, powerful, and durable mech made of titanium alloy and carbon fiber. Using this robot, he poses a significant challenge to Toriko, utilizing weapons like Peeler Shots and a powerful laser cannon. His own physical abilities are not extensively showcased, but after his transformation, it is implied he is much stronger than before. He also demonstrates a unique resistance to the King Sleep Fragrance, a potent aroma from the King Sloth that can induce a month-long slumber. Bei claims his intense excitement allows him to remain immune to its effects.
