Description
Ginta Ryou, also known as Camel Star, is a character from the anime Star Driver. He is a member of the Glittering Crux Brigade, specifically belonging to its second section known as Vanishing Age. Within the organization, he holds the title of a Star Driver and pilots the Cybody named Gimelock. In his daily life away from the Crux, he is a third-year student at Southern Cross High School.

Physically, Ginta is depicted as having a tall and slim build, characterized by long blonde hair and yellow eyes. He is often seen wearing glasses and a necklace, with a typical outfit consisting of a purple shirt and white pants. When in his official capacity with Vanishing Age, he dons a distinctive black and red jumpsuit complemented by a sleeveless jacket, brown boots, and gloves.

Ginta's personality is marked by a sly and sneaky demeanor, coupled with a calculating nature. He is notably reticent, a trait that can make him appear somewhat cowardly when contrasted with some of his more aggressive comrades in Vanishing Age. This hesitance is not born of incompetence but from a deep-seated self-interest. For instance, he deliberately lost a game of darts because he was reluctant to risk losing his Cybody in a competitive match. His primary motivation appears to be self-preservation, as he harbored a desire to retain his Cybody to ensure his own safety during the Crux's ultimate phases, believing it would protect him from a potential nuclear conflict on the island. This selfishness extends to his moral code, as he has no qualms about using underhanded tactics. He notably poisoned the protagonist, Takuto, outside of Zero Time to gain an unfair advantage in a duel, demonstrating a willingness to do whatever it takes to secure a victory for himself.

Ginta's role in the story primarily functions as an antagonist and a rival Star Driver. He is often involved in plots to sabotage or spy on the main characters in order to further the goals of the Glittering Crux. His deceptive methods and schemes also occasionally put him at odds with his own organization's leadership, as he is prone to plotting on his own behalf and undermining the orders of his superior, Head. Key relationships include his standing within Vanishing Age, where his reluctance to take risks sets him apart from other members. He also demonstrated sharp deduction skills, as he was able to correctly deduce the identity of a fellow Crux member, Keito, recognizing her not only as the masked figure Ivrogne but also as the East Maiden.

In terms of abilities, Ginta is a capable Star Driver whose primary special power is his First Phase, which allows him to possess animals. He utilizes this ability for espionage and sabotage, such as controlling a raven to spy on others or a snake to deliver poison to an enemy. His skills are not limited to his Cybody; he is also proficient in darts and possesses strong deductive and non-linear thinking skills, allowing him to devise complex plans, such as figuring out a way to break the seal on Zero Time without authorization. The Cybody he pilots, Gimelock, is a powerful warrior-type machine that wields a Star Sword named Corail. Gimelock possesses the unique ability to separate its body into two independent parts: a decoy lower half that continues to fight, and the true upper half, which is capable of flight, mirroring the devious and deceptive nature of its pilot.
