Description
Elsa Granhiert, known as the Bowel Hunter, was an orphan raised by theft on the streets of the Holy Kingdom of Gusteko. Caught during a theft by a shopkeeper who attempted to assault her, she fatally wounded him with a shard of glass from a Granhiert bottle, discovering an intense fascination with the warmth of his entrails. This event established her gruesome fixation on gutting victims and initiated her reputation as a feared assassin.
Approximately nine years before the main events, she became one of the Featherrun Sisters and underwent experimentation by Holosseo Featherrun, transforming her into a Curse Doll—a state granting regenerative immortality but degrading her sanity with each death. After Holosseo ordered the sisters to kill each other, Elsa killed him and her sisters Ornea and Sithonia, though she spared Ornea under duress. Capella Emerada Lugnica, the Sin Archbishop of Lust, coerced Elsa into becoming her "daughter" by threatening Ornea and Oliver Zeppes.
Elsa later retrieved Meili Portroute, a feral child living with witchbeasts, killing the beasts and bringing Meili to the assassin organization. Meili adopted speech patterns and mannerisms from Elsa, and they developed a sister-like bond. Elsa undertook high-risk missions, including assassinating a prominent figure in the Sacred Vollachia Empire and narrowly escaping the imperial bodyguard "Blue Lightning."
Physically, Elsa stood 168 cm tall with unusually pale skin, long black hair braided into a left-sided tail, and angled purple eyes. She wore provocative attire: a strapless, backless black dress with thigh-high slits, purple accents, elbow-length gloves, and brown tights, accessorized with a purple flower in her hair. Her weapons included concealed throwing needles, ornate short blades, and specialized kukri knives—a serrated black blade for goring and a heavy white blade for crushing bone. She also possessed a magic cloak that nullified one spell before disintegrating.
Her personality combined calmness with battle mania. She exhibited sadistic arousal from disemboweling victims and masochistic pleasure from enduring injuries, relishing life-or-death combat where victory or death were equally satisfying outcomes. Outside combat, she knitted cotton dolls, including a Reinhard figurine for Meili, though she likely destroyed them later.
Hired by Roswaal L. Mathers to steal Emilia's insignia, Elsa recruited the thief Felt for the task, triggering events in the Royal Capital. She killed Natsuki Subaru during the confrontation but was defeated by Reinhard van Astrea, surviving due to her regeneration. She escaped with Meili, altering their hair colors using a witchbeast to evade capture.
Roswaal later hired her again to attack his mansion. Partnered with Meili, Elsa orchestrated multiple assaults using witchbeasts across repeated timelines. During the final confrontation, Garfiel Tinsel overwhelmed her regenerative abilities through sustained combat, crushing her body. Her corpse reanimated due to residual curse effects, attempting to kill Subaru before being consumed by an explosion in the burning mansion.
