TV-Series
Description
Mira Ackerman is the original pilot of the Neo-Okusaer mecha and a key figure in the history of the war against the Mimetic Beasts. Before the main story begins, she served as Goh Saruwatari’s combat partner and lover, as well as a former romantic partner of Max, another pilot. In the climactic battle that ended the first conflict with the Mimetic Beasts five years before the series, Mira sacrificed herself and her robot, leading everyone to believe she had been killed. In reality, she was trapped inside a Mimetic Beast and placed into a coma-like state.

When Mira is discovered and awakened at the start of the series, she suffers from total amnesia. Her personality during this period is drastically regressed; she behaves in a childish, excessively cheerful manner, with the mental and emotional state of a young child. She is unaware of her past identity, her skills, and her relationships. As she recovers, she gradually regains her full memories, and her demeanor shifts to a serious, professional, and highly competent one that matches her veteran status. She resumes her duties as the pilot of the Neo-Okusaer and becomes instrumental in the fight against the Mimetic Beasts.

Mira’s motivations are rooted in her deep, enduring love for Goh and her sense of duty as a pilot. She silently grapples with her feelings for him, especially after his engagement to Anna Aoi, and often takes a step back to allow Anna to be his partner, though she carries a quiet envy. Her role in the story extends beyond combat, as she is revealed to be a carrier of the Rabbit Syndrome, a condition that grants her extraordinary healing abilities. These abilities prove crucial in developing a vaccine for the Insania virus, which threatens all of humanity. Mira is also a highly skilled mecha pilot, possessing exceptional combat instincts and reflexes that make her a formidable fighter.

Key relationships in her life include Goh, with whom she shares a complicated history of love and partnership, and Anna, whom she regards with a mix of respect and unspoken rivalry. Her past with Max also surfaces, adding another layer to her character. Throughout the series, Mira undergoes significant development: from a presumed-dead hero, to a lost amnesiac, to a restored warrior who must reconcile her former life with the new reality in which Goh has moved on. Her journey is one of recovery, acceptance, and finding her place both on the battlefield and in the lives of those she cares about.
