Description
Lou Roux is a young girl who initially lives and works as an operator on Cosmo Base, an orbital space station tasked with monitoring Earth for the presence of Mimetic Beasts. She shares a close and affectionate bond with her father, the base commander, and at the start of the series she appears as a happy, normal child whose youth belies a mature intellect. Her life is shattered when a Mimetic Beast attacks the station, killing her father and destroying the facility. Lou is the sole survivor, sent to Earth by her father in a desperate act to protect her. She is taken in by Goh Saruwatari and Anna Aoi, the newly married protagonists, and gradually becomes part of their extended household.

The trauma of losing her father and her home fuels a powerful obsession: she becomes determined to become a robot pilot and avenge his death. This drive transforms her personality from a cheerful girl into someone with a cold, single-minded dedication to hunting Mimetic Beasts. She pilots a mecha called Cosmo Diver, which was originally used for space operations, and she quickly proves herself capable in combat. Her motivations are rooted in grief and vengeance, and she often struggles to reconcile her desire for revenge with the family-like support she receives from Goh and Anna.

In the story, Lou serves as both a supporting pilot and a catalyst for the darker emotional conflicts present in the series. Her key relationships include her deceased father, whose memory she honors through her quest; Goh and Anna, who act as surrogate parents and try to guide her away from pure vengeance; and later Ken, a renegade pilot whom she helps recover from his injuries and with whom she joins in a rogue fight against the Mimetic Beasts. Her character undergoes some development as she interacts with these figures, though her arc primarily revolves around whether she can move past her need for revenge and find a new purpose. Notable abilities include her piloting skills, sharp intellect, and an unwavering determination that makes her a formidable if sometimes reckless fighter. Lou Roux is a young orphan driven by loss, whose journey in Godannar highlights the personal costs of war and the search for closure.
