Kantai, also known formally as Seishin, is a character from the anime The Twelve Kingdoms who plays a significant role during the uprising against the corrupt rule of Gahou in the kingdom of Kei. He is a hanjyuu, a half-beast, possessing the ability to take the form of a massive and incredibly powerful bear while also maintaining a human appearance. Even in his human form, Kantai demonstrates monstrous strength that far exceeds that of ordinary humans, a trait that makes him a formidable warrior.
His background is tied to a deep sense of loyalty. Kantai serves as the secret general of the province of Baku under his lord, Koukan.
