In the anime The Twelve Kingdoms, Rakujin, also referred to as Heki Rakujin, is a minor supporting character. He is a teacher at a school in the Kingdom of En. He is a kaikyaku, a person who was carried from the modern world into the world of the Twelve Kingdoms by a supernatural event. He was blown over thirty years before the events of the story, arriving at the age of twenty-two, which makes him roughly fifty-two years old at the time he appears. Over those three decades he established himself in En, and his work as a teacher reflects his settled position there.
