Description
Minna Dietlinde Wilcke is the ranking officer and commander of the 501st Joint Fighter Wing, holding the official rank of Lieutenant Colonel and serving as Wing Commander. She originates from Karlsland and is affiliated with the JG 3 Luftwaffe. In combat, she pilots a Messerschmitt Bf-109G-2 striker unit and wields an MG42 machine gun. Her ace pilot archetype is based on the historical figure Wolf-Dietrich Wilcke, and when equipped for combat she gains wolf-like features that allude to this namesake. She is counted among the seven best witches in terms of shot down totals.
Minna has a sisterly, nurturing demeanor and places the safety of her subordinates above all else, both in battle and during downtime. Her gentle and calm approach to leadership means she often acts as the good cop to Mio Sakamoto's more stern bad cop when discipline is required. Her partnership with Mio Sakamoto is a strong one, forged before the 501st was formed, and they work closely together from a squad management perspective.
Beyond her combat role, Minna has a personal side that includes a deep love for music. In her youth she aspired to study abroad at a conservatory in Wien or at the Mozarteum in Salzburg, but was forced to give up that dream due to the Neuroi invasion. She is a talented singer and once sang the song Lili Marleen as a farewell gift for the crew of the departing aircraft carrier Akagi.
Her inherent magical ability is a perception-type magic called Three Dimensional Space Understanding Ability. This power allows her to perceive and discern all nearby targets in every direction, sorting out their position, number, and classification, which makes her exceptionally effective in command and in combat analysis. Her development throughout the story is marked by her steady, responsible presence as the unit's leader, balancing her caring nature with the demands of wartime command.
