Iraak Coega, also known as Ailac Coega, is a member of the Dai-Gurren Brigade who joins the team after hearing of Kamina's exploits. He has blue hair and is known for being calm and composed, though he also has a flirtatious and slightly conceited side, with a habit of brushing his hair up with his right hand.

Ailak pilots a personal Gunmen named the Einzer, a teal and white machine that resembles a theropod dinosaur with a long, low profile designed for speed. Its design includes a pointed face resembling a reptilian snout, a large red eye, long legs with backward-jointed knees, and a large thruster on its rear that can rotate forward to function as a cannon. During the early battles against the Beastmen, Ailak uses the Einzer as a mobile platform for Yoko, allowing her to snipe enemy units from atop the Gunmen while he focuses on piloting. He forms a close partnership with Kidd, who is his brother, and the two are described as being on good terms with each other.

During the first arc of the story, Ailak participates in the assault on the Dai-Gunzan alongside the rest of Team Gurren. In the second arc, during the Anti-Spiral War, his Gunmen is later upgraded by Leite into a space-faring version equipped with a massive rocket thruster, allowing him to continue fighting alongside his comrades. In the final deep space battle against the Anti-Spirals, Ailak is killed when he and Kidd attempt to avenge the fallen comrade Zorthy, charging toward the enemy until the end. His sacrifice is later honored with a memorial site in the series epilogue.
