Description
Balinbow Bakusa is one half of a pair of towering, boisterous twin brothers who are members of the powerful Team Dai-Gurren. He is virtually indistinguishable from his twin, Jorgun, except for the color of his signature accessory; Balinbow wears blue sunglasses, while his brother wears red. The two are always seen together and share a larger-than-life personality, communicating primarily in loud, manly grunts, cheers, and short, enthusiastic phrases. Their behavior is consistently exaggerated and hyped-up, reflecting their immense physical stature and their love for direct, head-on action.

Balinbow's background is tied directly to the formation of Team Dai-Gurren. Inspired by the spreading legend of a man fighting the Beastmen with a stolen Gunman, he and his brother hijacked their own mecha. They eventually joined forces with other like-minded rebels and were formally inducted into the new Team Dai-Gurren by its founder, Kamina. From that point on, Balinbow became a loyal and enduring member of the team. His primary motivation is straightforward: to fight alongside his brother and comrades, to prove his toughness, and to contribute to humanity's fight for freedom. He is not driven by complex philosophy but by a simple, fierce loyalty and a love for battle.

Within the team, Balinbow's most significant relationship is, of course, with his twin brother Jorgun. They function as a single unit, co-piloting the two-faced Gunman known as Twin Boukun. Their bond is absolute, and they are always seen fighting side-by-side. They share a dynamic of mutual encouragement and amplify each other's energetic nature. While they are friendly with the rest of the crew, their unique twin dynamic sets them apart. Their role in the story is primarily as supporting heavy hitters, providing brute force in major battles. After the seven-year time skip, their role temporarily shifts to a bureaucratic one when they are appointed as Directors of the Public Affairs Department, where they are responsible for keeping track of the growing human population. This humorous assignment places the two most boisterous warriors behind a desk, highlighting the peacetime of the new human civilization.

Balinbow's most notable development is his heroic sacrifice during the final battle against the Anti-Spiral forces. As the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren is ambushed, the younger pilots Gimmy and Darry find their Grapearl mecha badly damaged and surrounded. Seeing the children in danger, Jorgun and Balinbow do not hesitate. They throw their own damaged Space Gunman to push the Grapearls to safety, leaving themselves completely exposed to enemy fire. Facing their imminent destruction, the twins do not show fear. Instead, they turn to face their enemies and laugh defiantly as their mecha explodes, taking a massive portion of the enemy fleet with them. This act transforms them from comic relief into genuine heroes who face death with dignity and a smile for the sake of their comrades.

In terms of abilities, Balinbow is a capable Gunman pilot, co-operating with his brother to control Twin Boukun. Their mecha was initially land-based but was later upgraded with a miniature Levisphere, granting it flight capabilities. Their piloting style is aggressive and direct, relying on overwhelming force. In the second compilation film, The Lights in the Sky are Stars, the brothers achieve the pinnacle of their power by forming the galaxy-sized Tengen Toppa Twinboekun. This colossal mecha, which features multiple faces on its body, is powerful enough to catch and stop attacks capable of destroying galaxies and possesses hand cannons that can focus immense spiral energy into destructive blasts.
