Description
Jorgun Bakusa is one half of a pair of towering twin brothers who are members of Team Dai-Gurren in the anime Gurren Lagann, serving alongside his sibling Balinbow Bakusa. The two are virtually identical in their imposing physical stature and share a loud, boisterous personality, typically communicating in manly grunts and monosyllabic phrases. They can be told apart primarily by their choice of sunglasses, with Jorgun wearing red shades while his brother sports blue ones. As a duo, they are the pilots of the two-faced Gunman known as Twin Boukun.

Motivated by the spreading news of a man fighting back against the oppressive Beastman army with a stolen Gunman, Jorgun and his brother were inspired to hijack a mecha of their own. They soon joined forces with other like-minded individuals, including the charismatic Kamina, and were formally inducted into the newly formed Team Dai-Gurren. Their early contributions to the team included assisting in an attempt to commandeer the enemy fortress Dai-Gunzan by hurling boulders at Beastman forces before charging into battle themselves. Following Kamina's death and Simon's ascension as leader, the twins continued to participate actively in the team's operations. Their enthusiasm was not without its setbacks, as they were once forced to sit out a battle against Adiane and her submerged fortress because their Gunman, Twin Boukun, was not watertight. Later, after the team's mechanic Leeron equipped their mecha with a miniature Levisphere to enable flight, Jorgun and Balinbow played a crucial role in engaging the massive Gunmen force protecting the capital city of Teppelin, creating an opening for Simon to confront and defeat the Spiral King, Lordgenome.

In the seven-year time skip that follows humanity's victory over the Beastmen, Jorgun and Balinbow are appointed as Directors of the Public Affairs Department, a bureaucratic role that puts them in charge of managing the human population count. Despite their boisterous nature, they are shown to be part of the governing council of Kamina City, though they seem ill-suited for administrative work and struggle with tasks like taking a census. When the human population reaches one million, the Anti-Spirals launch an attack on Earth, which draws the brothers back into the fight. After helping to repel the initial Anti-Spiral forces, Jorgun and Balinbow join the reformed Team Dai-Gurren, receiving a new Space Gunman as they prepare to take the battle to the Anti-Spiral homeworld to rescue Simon's fiancée, Nia.

Jorgun meets his end during the final battle of the Anti-Spiral war. As the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren travels through deep space, it is ambushed by hordes of mass-produced Anti-Spiral mecha. When the enemy forces badly damage the Grapearls piloted by the younger members Gimmy and Darry, Jorgun and Balinbow make a split-second decision to save them by throwing their own ruined mecha back to the safety of the Super Galaxy Dai-Gurren. This act of self-sacrifice leaves them completely exposed to enemy fire. In their final moments, Jorgun and his brother face their foes without fear, laughing as their Space Gunman is obliterated in a massive explosion that also destroys a large portion of the enemy armada, allowing their comrades to finish the fight. A memorial monument is later erected in their honor, alongside Kamina and the other fallen members of Team Dai-Gurren. In battle, their notable ability is their instinctive coordination as twins, allowing them to fight as a seamless unit and pilot their unique two-faced Gunman effectively, though their power is not as prominently featured as the main pilots of the series.
