Description
Himeka Kujyou is a central character in the story, initially introduced as the mild-mannered and soft-spoken "cousin" of Kazune Kujyou. She quickly becomes a close friend to the protagonist, Karin Hanazono. Physically, Himeka is depicted with black hair and brown eyes, and she has a birthday on March 14.
Himeka's personality is defined by her gentle, kind, and remarkably calm demeanor. She tends to speak slowly and softly, often giving her an air-headed or somewhat gullible quality, which contrasts with the more energetic and impulsive Karin. She embodies traits often associated with a traditional, composed young woman, yet she possesses unique and unexpected quirks. Most notably, she has a genuine love for bugs, a hobby that disgusts her cousin Kazune, and she is also an excellent cook.
Her background holds a significant secret that drives much of the story's conflict. Himeka is not actually Kazune's cousin but is, in fact, the real daughter of Suzuka and Kazuto Kujyou. To protect his research from a dangerous colleague named Kirihiko Karasuma, Kazuto split his daughter into two separate beings, creating the Himeka Kujyou living with Kazune and another Himeka who lives with the Karasuma family. The two Himekas are mysteriously connected: when one grows stronger or healthier, the other becomes weaker. This unique condition makes her the primary target for the antagonists, and her well-being is a central motivation for the actions of both Kazune and Karin.
Within the group, Himeka serves as a stabilizing and caring presence. Although she is unable to transform into a god or goddess like her friends, she contributes through her emotional support and domestic skills. She holds a deep and complex affection for Kazune, which she has felt since childhood when she often had to defend him as he was somewhat timid. As she grows older, she acknowledges that her feelings are not purely romantic; instead, she views him as a unique figure in her life, feeling he is "kind of like a brother and kind of like a dad" to her, a sentiment that reflects Kazune's true origin as a clone of her father, Kazuto.
Over the course of the story, Himeka's role evolves from a protected friend to a more proactive individual. Her connection to the other Himeka is a key plot point, leading to encounters and a reluctant understanding between the two. Her ultimate fate is closely tied to the resolution of the conflict surrounding her father's research, and the revelation of her true parentage reshapes her relationships with everyone around her, particularly Karin, who is revealed to be her de-aged mother. Her primary ability is not a combat skill but the fact that she is the living vessel for her father's critical research data, which is why she was split into two halves, making her the very secret everyone is trying to protect or steal.
