Noriko Shitaya

Noriko Shitaya is a Japanese voice actress born on April 22, 1982, in Chiba Prefecture, Japan. She is affiliated with the talent agency 81 Produce and has been active in the voice acting industry since her debut in 2001. A graduate of the Yoyogi Animation Academy, her first credited role was in the anime Alien Nine.
Shitaya is most widely recognized for her long-standing role as Sakura Matō in the immensely popular Fate/stay night franchise. She first voiced the character in the 2006 anime adaptation and has continued to portray her across numerous series, including Fate/Zero, the Unlimited Blade Works television series, and various original video animations like Carnival Phantasm. Her performance as Sakura is central to the Heaven's Feel film trilogy, where the character takes the lead. Shitaya voiced Sakura in all three films: Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel I. presage flower (2017), Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel II. lost butterfly (2019), and Fate/stay night: Heaven's Feel III. spring song (2020). She has also voiced衍生 characters from the same universe in games like Fate/Grand Order, including BB, Parvati, and Kama.
Beyond the Fate series, Shitaya has built a diverse career with many notable anime roles. Some of these include Himeko Kurusugawa in Destiny of the Shrine Maiden, Maya Yamada in the Infinite Stratos series, and Nao Saotome in Massugu ni Ikō. She has also had significant roles in long-running series such as Moegi in Naruto and Naruto Shippūden, Ururu Tsumugiya in Bleach, and multiple characters in the Pokémon anime, including Serena's Pancham (Yancham) and the Gym Leader Viola. Her film work includes roles in several Bleach movies and the Tamagotchi the Movie series as Tanpopo.
In addition to anime, Shitaya is an active voice actress in video games. Her game credits span major franchises, including Maria in a remake of Final Fantasy II, Rydia in a remake of Final Fantasy IV, and Althea in Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: The Crystal Bearers. She has also voiced Nier in Granblue Fantasy and the associated fighting game Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, as well as characters in Azur Lane and King's Raid.
Outside of voice acting, Shitaya was a member of the band Cri☆siS, formed in 2007, where she played guitar. She has also hosted radio programs related to her anime work, such as RADIO Kannazuki and RADIO Kyōshirō. In her personal life, she announced her marriage in 2015 and later that year gave birth to a son.
