Description
Fubuki Spring commands the First Regiment of the Other Suppression Force (OSF) as its effective leader. Holding the rank of Septentrion Second Class, he stands among the organization's seven most powerful psionics. Standing 178 cm tall and born on February 17, he wields cryokinesis to conjure and control ice, alongside bou shuriken as his specialized weapon. Identified as OSF540102 with 27 years of service, Fubuki possesses a kind and gentle demeanor that inspires significant trust within the OSF and among citizens, though some perceive his kindness as a weakness. His amicable nature and handsome appearance contribute to his popularity.
His history runs deep with childhood friends Karen Travers and Alice Ichijo, first encountered during a psionic test involving Karen and his brother Luka. Fubuki became engaged to Alice, but their relationship ended tragically when she metamorphosed into an Other, an event profoundly impacting both Fubuki and Karen. This trauma drove them to research the government's secret experiments on human metamorphosis and personality rehabilitation.
Throughout the conflict involving Yuito Sumeragi and Kasane Randall, Fubuki plays a pivotal role. He demonstrates his combat prowess during a major Other incursion in Suoh City alongside Karen. Growing increasingly disillusioned with the New Himuka government's unethical practices, especially after learning of their involvement in Alice's fate, he intervenes at critical moments: confiscating metamorphosis-related ampoules and shielding Kasane from Kodama. Aware of Karen's collusion with Seiran for revolution, he serves as a key informant.
Fubuki actively aids Yuito and Kasane, revealing government secrets and guiding them to uncover truths about the Kunad Gate and the Red Strings. He negotiates a cease-fire between Suoh and Seiran while coordinating efforts to stop Togetsu's plans. His shared history with Karen and Alice resurfaces, highlighting their trauma and Karen's descent into extremism. In one future timeline observed by Kasane, Fubuki dies, leading Karen to surrender his body to Fubuki's sister, Arashi Spring. However, in the primary timeline, Fubuki confronts Karen during the final conflict, convincing him to abandon his destructive path and honor Alice's wish to save the world. Karen sacrifices himself to create a new reality without the Extinction Belt, erasing himself from history. Within this new world, Fubuki retains memory of Karen's existence and sacrifice.
Fubuki's relationship with his sister Arashi Spring is noted. His leadership consistently reflects a commitment to protecting others and seeking resolution through understanding, navigating loss and betrayal.
