Description
Dr. Chika Tanaka serves as the lead scientist at Lab 23 in Japan, overseeing the operations of the new Arc Reactor station for Tony Stark. A woman who combines intellectual brilliance with a striking appearance, she is initially presented as a highly competent professional dedicated to her work. When Tony Stark arrives in Japan to witness the new Arc Reactor and the Iron Man Dio armor demonstration, Tanaka is assigned to assist him, providing vital scientific support and information in his fight against the terrorist organization Zodiac.
In terms of personality, Chika is professional, serious, and somewhat reserved, particularly when it comes to Tony Stark's widely known womanizing tendencies. She maintains a guarded demeanor around him, often deflecting or showing annoyance at his frequent and unsuccessful attempts at flirtation. In a heroic act to stop Zodiac's plan to take over Japan, she sacrifices her own life. Following her death, the Arc Station where she worked is renamed the Tanaka Memorial Station in her honor.
