TV-Series
Description
Milia Fallyna Jenius is a female Zentradi who first appears as an ace pilot during the First Space War. Originally a warrior of the all-female Meltlandi division, she volunteered for micloning after being defeated in combat by the human pilot Maximilian Jenius. Her initial motivation was to infiltrate the Macross and kill him, but after he spared her life in a knife fight, she recognized that the emotion she felt was love rather than hatred. She defected to the United Nations Spacy, married Max, and became a celebrated symbol of human-Zentradi unity.

In the years following the war, Milia continued her military career. She served as a flight instructor at the Eagle Nest Aerial Tactics Center, where she was known as the Eagle Mother, and later co-led the Dancing Skull special forces team alongside Max. She and Max had seven daughters, including Komilia and Mylene. By the time of Macross 7, Milia has left active military service and been elected mayor of City 7, the largest ship of the Macross 7 colonization fleet, with over ninety percent of the vote. Despite her civilian role, she remains a formidable pilot. She still owns her original red VF-1J Valkyrie and later pilots red-colored VF-17D Nightmare and VF-22S Sturmvogel II models when the fleet faces the Protodeviln threat.

Personality-wise, Milia is strong-willed, inflexible, and determined, especially when it comes to protecting her citizens. She is a capable leader who does not hesitate to return to combat when necessary. However, her personal life is complicated. She and Max are separated during the Varauta war, though the information is kept secret, and their disagreements sometimes affect military decisions. Her relationship with her youngest daughter, Mylene, is strained; Milia disapproves of Mylene’s involvement in the rock band Fire Bomber and tries to arrange a marriage with ace pilot Gamlin Kizaki. Over the course of the series, her interactions with Max gradually improve, and they eventually fight side by side in the final battle against the Protodeviln leader.

Milia’s key abilities include exceptional skill in powered suits and variable fighters, tactical experience, and the ability to inspire both fear and respect. She is sensitive about her age, which remains unchanged due to her Zentradi physiology, and bristles when characters like Basara Nekki comment on it. Her development traces a path from a single-minded warrior obsessed with personal honor to a mother, civic leader, and reluctant peacemaker who must balance her duty to the fleet with her own family’s fractured bonds.
