Aine Shizuma is a ghostly figure bound to the Asura Machina known as Hisui. She is the cousin of Reishirou and Reiko. Five years before the main events, she was a living girl waiting on a ship for Reishirou when the vessel was attacked in a conflict. Fatally impaled by shrapnel, she was saved from death only by Reishirou using a device called the Extractor to sacrifice her physical form, transforming her into the Burial Doll that powers Hisui. In her spectral state, she appears dressed in a costume decorated with snowflakes. Her height is 141 centimeters, and her original living body weighed approximately 38 kilograms. Her birthday is January 7th, and she has O blood type. When alive, she had a carefree and rough-and-tumble nature, often teasing and arguing with her cousin Reiko. As a spirit, her emotional range is greatly subdued, though she retains an obsession with numbers and is highly skilled at mental arithmetic. Her power manifests as control over ice. In a significant act of sacrifice, she uses the last remaining energy of her life force to create a runway made of ice, allowing a crashing airplane to land safely and saving everyone on board, after which her existence dissipates. An alternate version of Aine from a different world exists as a member of the Cooking Club, where she briefly and comically misinterprets a comment from Tomoharu as a romantic confession.
