Description
Hotaru is the Guardian Character of Rikka Hiiragi, appearing in the anime series Shugo Chara! Party!. The name Hotaru translates to "firefly" in Japanese. Her Guardian Egg first appears at the end of episode fifteen, born from Rikka's heart. This egg is initially turned into an X-Egg, but Rikka is able to purify it, and Hotaru hatches five episodes later, first appearing fully in episode twenty.
Hotaru's appearance is distinctive and colorful. She has shiny magenta hair and lilac eyes. She wears a white tunic with a yellow bow over an orange jumpsuit, and completes her outfit with purple flats. Her most notable features are a purple tail and a yellow headband, both of which are decorated with an orange-yellow sun symbol. The reason for her tail and its sun motif is presented as a secret.
In terms of personality, Hotaru is polite, elegant, and calm, which provides a strong balance to her keeper Rikka, who is known for her high energy and spunk.
