Description
Ayano Yūgiri is an elite agent and leader within the private military company AAA Defender Co., known for her serious, strict, yet caring leadership. As the daughter of company president Akino Yūgiri, she shares a professional history with Shu Ogata, whom her mother previously employed. Ayano and Shu were romantically involved during their time at AAA. Despite their breakup and Shu's departure, Ayano continues to support him, often assisting with his requests even though she harbors reservations about his methods and associations.

She possesses long, bright blue hair reaching her hips and matching blue eyes, standing 165 cm tall. Ayano typically dresses in a professional blue suit with tights, accessorized with a necklace and earrings. For combat, she wears a skin-tight suit designed for mobility. Her character design originally featured black hair, changed to bright blue for visual distinction.

Professionally diligent and service-oriented, Ayano exhibits a tsundere personality personally. She outwardly dismisses her caring nature but frequently looks after others, especially Shu, rationalizing it as selfishness or common behavior. Lingering romantic feelings for Shu fuel jealousy, particularly regarding his closeness to the demon girl Kisara. This jealousy sometimes triggers irritable outbursts, though she generally avoids relying on others to resolve conflicts. Witnessing Kisara's intimacy with Shu visibly angers her, highlighting unresolved emotions.

Ayano shares a longstanding connection with Shu dating back to childhood; she is slightly older than him, though the exact age gap is unspecified. Their relationship began during their tenure at AAA, where she was his senior. Flashbacks show their bond forming early in their youth, with Ayano's friend Linka teasing her about a preference for younger partners—a claim Ayano denies. This history complicates their dynamic post-breakup as she balances duty with personal concern for Shu.

In combat, Ayano relies on human-centric tactics and advanced technology rather than supernatural abilities. She utilizes body armor, high-tech assault rifles, and tactical equipment to strategically neutralize demonic threats known as D-Hazards, contrasting with Kisara's demonic powers. Ayano also appears in the spin-off mobile game Engage Kill.
