Description
Frosch is an Exceed and a mage belonging to the Sabertooth guild, most notably serving as the partner of the Dragon Slayer Rogue Cheney as part of the team known as the Twin Dragons of Sabertooth. As an Exceed, Frosch is a small, green anthropomorphic cat with a long tail, large round eyes with prominent eyelashes, and rosy cheeks, capable of standing on its hind legs. The vast majority of its body, except for its face, is covered by a distinctive pink suit resembling a poison dart frog, which is covered in black spots and includes a hood that forms the frog's head with two beady eyes on top. Frosch stands approximately 40 centimeters tall. Its gender is ambiguous and not explicitly defined within the narrative.

In terms of personality, Frosch is consistently happy-go-lucky and possesses an innocent, somewhat naive outlook on the world. A defining verbal tic is its habit of referring to itself in the third person, as well as its tendency to agree with other people's opinions regardless of what those opinions might be. Frosch also frequently asks questions that others, particularly its fellow Exceed Lector, consider redundant or obvious. Despite this child-like simplicity, Frosch is deeply loyal and caring. It loves Rogue Cheney very much and is intensely worried whenever he is in danger, such as when Rogue was being beaten by their former master, Jiemma. This loyalty manifests as considerable courage, as Frosch is willing to put itself in harm's way to protect those it cares about, once running directly towards a dangerous battle between Gajeel Redfox and Rogue to intervene.

Within the Sabertooth guild, Frosch's key relationships define its role. Its bond with Rogue is the most significant, with Rogue serving as a source of comfort and protection. Frosch has a notable fear of being excommunicated from the guild, a fate it witnessed happen to its friend Yukino Agria, who it is also very fond of. Rogue constantly reassures Frosch that this will not happen because they are together. Frosch also shares a very good relationship with Lector, Sting Eucliffe's Exceed partner, and the two are often in each other's company. When Lector was seemingly killed by Jiemma, Frosch was left in a state of total shock and afterward became visibly depressed and lonely without its friend by its side.

During the Grand Magic Games arc, Frosch plays a supporting but emotionally resonant role. It spends much of the competition watching from the sidelines, cheering for Rogue and Sting, and is visibly saddened whenever they struggle in battle. A key moment of development for Frosch occurs during Rogue's fight with Gajeel. When Rogue is overtaken by a Shadow entity, a confused but determined Frosch runs toward the fight, intent on saving its friend. It places itself between the combatants to protect the defeated Rogue, begging Gajeel not to kill him, which demonstrates its proactive bravery in the face of overwhelming danger. In terms of abilities, Frosch, like all Exceed, possesses the magical ability called Aera, which allows it to sprout a pair of angelic wings from its back to fly. Throughout the story, Frosch's journey reflects a subtle development from a purely innocent and comic relief character into a figure of genuine emotional strength and loyalty, steadfastly supporting its partner and friends through the trials they face.
