Description
Aries is a Celestial Spirit and one of the twelve golden keys of the Zodiac, known as the White Lamb. Her key was originally owned by the mage Karen Lilica, then passed to Angel of the Oración Seis, and finally came into the possession of Lucy Heartfilia after Angel's defeat.

In terms of appearance, Aries takes the form of a young woman with short, bubblegum-pink hair, brown eyes, and a pair of twisted, ram-like horns protruding from her head. Her attire is typically a white, fluffy outfit made of wool, which has seen slight variations in its design over the course of her appearances.

Aries is defined by her extremely shy, polite, and insecure personality. She has a persistent habit of apologizing frequently, often even when she has done nothing wrong or is not at fault. This deep-seated insecurity is a direct consequence of her troubled history, having suffered under two consecutive abusive masters. She is generally submissive and lacks the courage to stand up for herself, having silently endured mistreatment from Karen without protest. Despite her timidity and being easily frightened, Aries possesses a brave heart and a strong sense of duty, making her willing to fight for an owner she respects. She is deeply sweet and kind, and is very appreciative of Lucy Heartfilia's gentle and caring nature as a Celestial Spirit mage. She is also shown to be grateful to be contracted to the same owner as her old friend, Loke.

Aries' motivations are primarily rooted in loyalty and pride as a Celestial Spirit. While she dislikes conflict, she chooses to fight for the sake of her master's pride, even when it means battling someone she cares about. Her role in the story is that of a supporting character and a valuable member of Lucy's spiritual arsenal. She is summoned in various battles and situations, using her unique abilities to protect her friends and assist in overcoming obstacles. She plays a notable role during the Oración Seis arc, where she is forced to fight against Loke, and is instrumental in helping Lucy and Yukino Agria combine the power of all twelve Zodiac spirits to seal the Eclipse Gate.

A key relationship in her life is with Loke, the Lion (Leo). He is an old friend who once intervened to save her from her abusive master, Karen, by forcing Karen to stop summoning Aries and taking the punishment upon himself. This act of sacrifice forged a strong bond between them, and they are later delighted to serve the same kind owner in Lucy. Her relationships with her previous masters were negative; Karen was physically and emotionally abusive, using her as a shield or for entertainment, while Angel was a dark mage who forced her into combat.

Aries' character development is subtle but significant. She transitions from a spirit who has only known mistreatment and is resigned to it, to one who is learning to appreciate a healthy contract with a kind mage. While her core shyness remains, she grows more comfortable and willing to fight for Lucy, showing an emerging bravery that contrasts with her usual timid nature. In a non-canonical anime arc, an alternate "Eclipse" version of Aries appears, showcasing a radical and opposite personality that is rude, volatile, and sadistic, which serves to highlight her true nature's inherent kindness.

Aries possesses notable abilities centered on the manipulation of wool, a form of magic fitting her sheep-like motif. She can generate massive amounts of soft, pink wool to perform various techniques. These include Wool Bomb, which envelops opponents in a relaxing cloud to immobilize them; Wool Wall, which creates a protective barrier; Wool Cushion, which acts as a giant airbag to break falls; and 100% Fluffy-Fluffy Wool, which releases a thick flurry to blind and disorient enemies. She can also combine her abilities with Taurus to perform a joint attack called Wool Typhoon. Despite her gentle nature, Aries has demonstrated surprising proficiency in hand-to-hand combat when the situation demands it. As a Celestial Spirit, she is functionally immortal and cannot die unless she is forcibly kept in the human world for an extended period.
