Description
Panie Ibusuki serves as the primary physical representation and extension of the true Doll Master, ruler of the Neighboring World's tenth region, Malkuth. Her appearance mirrors a French doll: long blond hair worn down with bangs covering her forehead, bright blue eyes, and an innocent, blessing-like smile. A pink and white Sweet Lolita dress enhances her youthful presentation, sharply contrasting her true nature.
Operating through Panie, the Doll Master exhibits shrewdness, cruelty, cowardice, and prudence. She maintains absolute secrecy about her true location and appearance, remaining bedridden and paralyzed while manipulating events exclusively through her dolls. Originally a human orphan, she endured severe bullying and social isolation, forging an intense attachment to dolls. An experiment by the Spirit of Origin, Mio Takamiya, transformed her into a monster. After being killed, she reawakened in the Neighboring World as a quasi-spirit, only to face further cruelty. Other quasi-spirits ridiculed her weak Unsigned Angel and rejected her solitary doll companion. This trauma hardened her, driving her to kidnap, dissect, and transform quasi-spirits into lifeless yet animated dolls using their Sephira Crystals – a process she called creating loyal friends.
As Dominion of Malkuth, she established tyrannical rule through recurring killing games. These battles royale lured quasi-spirits with false promises of Sephira fragments, but served as traps to weaken participants, allowing her to eliminate survivors and convert them into more dolls. She expressed apathy toward victims, comparing killing them to snapping a puppy's neck, and demonstrated sadism by forcing dolls of former friends to fight each other. Her prudence manifested in never personally attending dominion meetings, sending proxy dolls instead.
In the Dead or Bullet narrative, she hosted one such game, eliminating participants like Ayame Takeshita while monitoring others, including Kurumi Tokisaki. She attempted to manipulate Kurumi into an alliance by threatening Hibiki Higoromo's life, but was rejected. After Kurumi accessed her full powers, Panie fled in panic only to encounter the White Queen, who executed her for having outlived her usefulness in advancing Kurumi's development.
Panie's primary powers centered on her Unsigned Angel, Talos, enabling manipulation of a giant bronze doll and storage of up to 400 dolls within her body. Her Astral Dress, Victoria, facilitated transportation and deployment of these dolls. Her true, paralyzed form was non-combatant, relying exclusively on proxies like Panie for interaction and combat.
She openly acknowledged her sins and lack of remorse, stating she would have continued expanding her doll collection indefinitely if not stopped.
