Description
Noa is a central character in the anime Kiba who originates from the city of Calm, a place where the wind never blows and the air is stagnant. He is introduced as the childhood friend of the protagonist Zed, and the two share a deep bond rooted in a childhood incident where Zed protected Noa from bullies. In their home city, Noa is regarded as an upstanding and respectable citizen, in contrast to Zed's rebellious and impulsive nature. Noa consistently defends Zed when others speak ill of him, demonstrating his loyalty and sense of justice.

Physically, Noa is portrayed as a tall teenage boy with dark hair, deep red eyes, and a pale complexion. He suffers from a debilitating nerve disease that severely restricts his movement and forces him to wear a brace around his neck and spine. The disease gives him a life expectancy of around thirty years, and any sudden or drastic movement can shorten it further. Despite this, Noa does not let his condition define his spirit. He presents a calm and thoughtful demeanor, and in Calm he is seen as the more rational and composed of the two friends.

After Zed passes through a dimensional portal into the world of Tempura, Noa eventually follows when he is drawn into a portal of his own. He arrives in Neotopia, a militaristic land governed by rigid laws and order. There he is taken in by a man named Carter and his wife, and he begins to make friends. However, as the story progresses, Noa undergoes a dramatic transformation. He becomes increasingly obsessed with power, and his personality shifts drastically. He adopts the name Lord Dolga and becomes aligned with the Tuskans, a faction that seeks to control the key spirits. This turn makes him an adversary to his former friend Zed, highlighting his role as a foil to the protagonist. Where Zed seeks freedom and understanding, Noa becomes consumed by ambition and the desire for control.

Noa's motivations are closely tied to his physical frailty and the limitations imposed by his disease. In the new world, he discovers the ability to wield shards and summon spirits, which offers him a sense of agency and power he never had in Calm. This newfound potential drives him to seek out and collect the key spirits, including Sachura, Monadi, Dynamis, and Shadin, as the story progresses. His growing hunger for power leads him to participate in the summoning of Tusker, the ultimate spirit formed from all six key spirits.

Key relationships in Noa's life include his deep but eventually fractured friendship with Zed, as well as his interactions with Roya, a disciple of the sage Zico. In the final episodes, Noa is seen in a wheelchair alongside Roya, suggesting a measure of reconciliation or at least coexistence. The series concludes with Noa throwing a paper airplane that lands near Zed, a quiet gesture that echoes the token of two feathers he once gave Zed as a symbol of their friendship.

Notable abilities of Noa include his shard casting powers and his capacity to control multiple key spirits. He is considered a dynamic character whose personality evolves dramatically over the course of the story, transforming from a gentle and loyal friend into a power-hungry figure, and eventually finding a semblance of peace. His physical condition remains a constant challenge, but his determination and intelligence allow him to become a significant force in the struggle for control over the spirit world.
