Description
Kurau Amami is a young woman in her early twenties who works as a freelance Agent, taking on missions that are too hazardous or unlawful for ordinary investigators or the Global Police Organization. She is known in underworld circles as an operative who never backs down from a job, yet her past and true nature remain a mystery to almost everyone.

Her origin traces back to an incident on the colonized Moon in the year 2100. As a twelve-year-old, she visited her father Hajime Amami, a lead researcher studying a novel energy source, at his laboratory. During an experiment, a surge of Rynax energy struck the young Kurau. The discharge did not merely injure her; it fused her physical form with two sentient energy beings from another dimension. One of the Rynax had enough strength to awaken and merged with her consciousness, forming a composite identity that carried memories of two separate existences. The second Rynax remained dormant inside her for a decade before emerging as a twelve-year-old girl whom Kurau names Christmas.

Because of that fusion, Kurau is a Ryna sapien, a human-Rynax hybrid. Her body and mind are intertwined with an energy-based life form, granting her a range of extraordinary physical abilities. She possesses superhuman strength, speed, and agility, can fly, phase through solid matter, and release destructive pulses of radiation capable of disintegrating objects instantly. These powers make her an exceptionally capable Agent but also place her in constant danger, as the authorities consider Rynax hybrids a threat to be eliminated.

Kurau’s personality is defined by deep-rooted solitude. Blending a human past with the experience of a displaced energy being has left her feeling alien to ordinary society. She avoids forming close attachments, fearing that others will uncover her secret or become targets themselves. Outwardly she comes across as reserved, self-sufficient, and emotionally guarded, rarely showing vulnerability. Beneath that composure, however, lies a fierce protective instinct and a quiet longing for connection, especially toward her other half, the dormant Rynax that later manifests as Christmas.

Her primary motivation is to safeguard Christmas and to find a way for the two of them to live peacefully. She is driven by an unspoken pact to never be separated again from her Pair. This goal pulls her into conflict with the Global Police Organization and other interests that seek to exploit or destroy Rynax entities. At the same time, she grapples with questions of identity: she is neither fully human nor solely Rynax, and much of her journey involves coming to terms with what that means.

Within the narrative, Kurau is the central figure around whom all tensions revolve. She operates in the shadows as an Agent while trying to stay ahead of the authorities and a coercive project that her own father has been forced to join. Her situation draws the attention of Doug, a former GPO officer turned freelance agent, who first investigates her but gradually becomes a reluctant ally. Her relationship with Christmas is the emotional core of the story; the two share a bond that resembles sisterhood yet runs far deeper, as they are two halves of a single entity. With her father, Hajime, there is a painful tangle of guilt, love, and scientific responsibility: he carries the weight of the accident that changed her and is later manipulated into work that threatens her existence. The family housekeeper, Ella, provided stability in Kurau’s early years and remains one of the few people who understands the fragility of the Amami family dynamic.

Over the course of events, Kurau evolves from an isolated loner who relies on no one into someone who learns to embrace the bonds she has been given. Meeting Christmas forces her to accept her dual nature and to open her heart in a way she had not dared since childhood. Her protective mission expands beyond mere survival to actively confronting the forces that would tear them apart. Through these challenges, she discovers that strength can coexist with trust and that her mixed heritage is not a curse to hide but a foundation for something unique.

In summary, Kurau Amami is a composite being of human and Rynax origin, employed as an elite and secretive Agent, equipped with an array of superhuman talents. Her closed-off personality masks intense loyalty and an unwavering commitment to her Rynax Pair. Her story follows her struggle to protect Christmas, evade persecution, and reconcile the different parts of her identity, ultimately moving from isolation toward a more hopeful connection with others.
