Description
Mutsu Takato is a central character in the second story arc of Shura no Toki: Age of Chaos. He is a nineteen-year-old male of Japanese nationality, with dark brown hair and olive eyes. He belongs to the fictional Mutsu clan, a lineage of warriors who have practiced the unarmed martial art known as Mutsu Enmei Ryu since the Heian era. The Mutsu are called Shura no Mono (Men of Carnage) because they walk an undefeated path, using incredible speed and strength to defeat armed opponents with their bare hands. Takato is a direct descendant of Yakumo Mutsu, the protagonist of the first arc, and his own story takes place during the Sengoku period.
Takato is described as the most intrepid, bloodthirsty, and aggressive member of the Mutsu family. He is also the most shameless and blunt in manner, showing little regard for social conventions. Unlike some of his kin, he takes great pleasure in facing powerful adversaries and actively seeks challenging battles. This love of combat defines much of his personality, though he is not needlessly cruel; he fights with an open enjoyment of the art of war.
His primary motivation in the story is to assist Sanada Tsubura, the daughter of the famous warlord Sanada Yukimura, in her quest for vengeance against Tokugawa Ieyasu.
