TV-Series
Description
Fuuko Kirisawa is a central figure in her story, introduced as a sixteen-year-old girl with a fierce and competitive spirit. Her physical appearance differs between adaptations, with brown hair and green eyes in the manga, while the anime depicts her with red-violet hair and blue eyes. Regardless of the version, she is consistently portrayed as a fit, athletic teenager who prefers wearing tight-fitting, practical clothing that allows for easy movement during battles, always accompanied by her signature white headband. Her birthday is August 2nd, making her a Leo, and her blood type is B.

From a young age, Fuuko shared a close friendship and a spirited rivalry with Recca Hanabishi. Her primary goal was to defeat him, believing that victory would compel him to serve her as her personal ninja. This competitive dynamic defined much of her early life. However, her world view is challenged when Recca freely decides to dedicate himself to another girl, Yanagi Sakoshita. Feeling hurt and perhaps a little jealous, Fuuko cannot initially accept that Recca would choose to serve someone he lost to fair and square, which leaves her feeling resentful and confused.

Her strong desire to defeat Recca makes her vulnerable to manipulation. This is exploited by the mysterious figure Kage Hoshi, who offers her a powerful psychic device known as a Madogu called the Fuujin, which grants its wielder the ability to control the wind. Eager for an edge against her rival, Fuuko accepts the device, unaware that it has been tampered with. The Fuujin contains a cursed stone that brainwashes her, turning her into a mind-controlled fighter obsessed with defeating Recca by any means necessary. Her friends are forced to battle her to break the spell, and it is only when Recca destroys the stone that Fuuko is freed from its control.

Once liberated, Fuuko retains the Fuujin and truly makes its power her own, becoming a formidable and loyal ally. Her personality is often described as tomboyish, a label she was frequently teased for, which made her somewhat sensitive about comments concerning her femininity or appearance. While she is not vain, she can become genuinely angry when someone insults her looks. Despite her tough exterior, she possesses a deep respect for human life and a strong sense of justice, harboring a particular hatred for those who would casually harm innocent people, including women and children.

Her relationships with her teammates evolve considerably over time. She grows past her initial resentment to become good friends with Yanagi, acknowledging the other girl's kind nature. Her dynamic with the large and boisterous Domon Ishijima is a notable source of both comedy and character growth. Domon consistently declares his love for Fuuko and tries to earn her affection, a pursuit that began when she defeated him in a fight. Fuuko typically responds to his advances with physical violence, often hitting him, but she never explicitly states she is not interested. On occasion, she has even shown a hint of jealousy when his attention wavers, suggesting a deeper, unacknowledged affection for him.

As a fighter, Fuuko is the fastest member of her team, relying on her incredible speed and agility in combat. Her primary weapon is the Fuujin, which she uses to generate powerful wind-based attacks. Her techniques include the Kamaitachi, a swirling wind cutter, and other maneuvers for both offense and defense. She is also highly proficient in hand-to-hand combat and skilled with throwing darts or needles known as Kiri. Later in her journey, she acquires another Madogu called the Oni no Tsume, a set of needles she can combine with the Fuujin to create sharp, devastating spikes of wind, further expanding her combat arsenal.
