Akiko Hiramatsu is a veteran Japanese voice actress born on August 31, 1967, in Tokyo. She is affiliated with the talent management firm Ken Production. Hiramatsu began her career in 1986 with a small role in the television anime Maison Ikkoku, and her first major character role came the following year as Rose Patenton in the 1987 mecha series Metal Armor Dragonar.

Hiramatsu's career is distinguished by a wide array of prominent roles from the 1990s through the 2010s. She is well-known for her performances as the energetic and kind-hearted Haruko Akagi in the classic basketball anime Slam Dunk and its subsequent films. Another signature role is that of the competent and earnest officer Miyuki Kobayakawa in the long-running police comedy You're Under Arrest. Her versatility is evident in her portrayal of very different characters, such as the hot-headed Bloodberry in Saber Marionette J, the strict but beloved teacher Yukari Tanizaki in Azumanga Daioh, and the enthusiastic monster enthusiast Aki Hinata in the long-running series Sgt. Frog. In the 2000s, she also voiced Kuukaku Shiba in Bleach and the calculating BT in.hack//SIGN.

In her later career, Hiramatsu has continued to work steadily, often taking on roles as mothers and other mature characters. This includes voicing Yukiko Koshigaya in the heartwarming slice-of-life series Non Non Biyori Repeat, Vento of the Front in A Certain Magical Index II, the false Minoshiro in From the New World, and Yaeko Nishimiya in the critically acclaimed film A Silent Voice. She also voiced Airi S. Granzchesta in the 2021 film Aria the Benedizione.
