Description
Washu Kozuka secretly advises and mentors the Magical Girls Club while masquerading as a cooking instructor and health teacher at Sasami’s school. Though human-born and devoid of innate magic, she hails from the witches’ dimension as a “storyteller”—a non-magical human tasked with executing the witches’ will. Disillusioned with humanity, she abandoned the human world to join the witches’ realm, embracing her role as an educator.

Initially charged with training club members to suppress their magic for societal integration, Washu pivots to sharpening their powers when the witches’ hierarchy shifts its goals. This reversal fuels her defiance against the corrupt Chief Sorceress, who exploits the girls for personal gain. Washu’s rebellious streak drives her to challenge authority figures head-on, even at personal risk, to shield her students.

Assertive, quick-tempered, and domineering, she frequently clashes with colleagues, notably attacking Itoki during a dispute. Beneath her abrasive demeanor lies fierce dedication to the girls’ well-being, often prioritizing their safety over her own. Her alliance with fellow storyteller Daimon remains strictly pragmatic, anchored in mutual respect for their shared mission.

Diverging from other incarnations, this Washu lacks scientific brilliance, relying on bravery and strategic wit. Her red eyes and lab coat define her appearance, while her culinary ineptitude humorously contrasts her teaching role. Though sources vaguely allude to a past as a health professional, details remain unclear.

A subplot reveals her neglect of the pet Ryo-Ohki, driving the creature to bond with Sasami—a dynamic reflecting themes of loyalty and care that parallel her mentorship of the club.

Her arc traces a journey from enforcing the witches’ edicts to openly resisting their tyranny, motivated by moral integrity and protective instincts. This evolution peaks during the clash with the Chief Sorceress, cementing her transformation from a jaded human exile to a defiant champion of the magical community.
