Lynette Bishop is a fifteen-year-old witch from the Britannia Federation who serves as a sergeant and sharpshooter in the 501st Joint Fighter Wing. She is the only native Britannian in the unit and the middle child of eight sisters, a position that instilled in her a practical and domestic nature from helping to care for her siblings. Her mother, Minnie Bishop, was a celebrated witch during the First Neuroi War who fought in London, and her father is a wealthy upper class merchant. Lynette attended an all-girls school before enlisting, which limited her contact with the opposite sex. She joined the Strike Witches shortly before Yoshika Miyafuji, driven by a desire to protect her homeland, but initially struggled to perform effectively in real combat despite strong training results, causing her to lose confidence. Over time, through the support of her comrades and her own perseverance, she gradually overcomes this insecurity and becomes a reliable member of the squadron.

Lynette is gentle, caring, and somewhat reserved, often putting others’ needs before her own. She has a domestic side; she enjoys cooking, though she can be lazy and her attempts sometimes end in failure.
