TV-Series
Description
Anon is a significant antagonist introduced in the latter half of The Law of Ueki, serving as the final primary opponent for the protagonist, Kousuke Ueki. His physical appearance is that of a male adolescent with burgundy hair that reaches waist-length and distinctive red eyes. He is originally presented under the guise of a character named Margaret, and his sudden reveal marks a dramatic escalation in the series' conflict.

Anon’s true nature is that of a hell man, specifically from the guardian or beast man clan. Unlike celestial beings who use divine powers, hell people possess superhuman physical abilities that far exceed those of the celestials. His personality is defined by an extreme and almost naive selfishness. He operates on a philosophy that places his own desires and whims above all else, frequently finding himself unable to comprehend the altruistic actions of others. This is reflected in his cruel and capricious behavior, such as tormenting innocents simply to test a dog's loyalty or threatening to destroy all of existence.

His primary motivation is a unique and paradoxical wish. Having grown immensely powerful to the point of loneliness, Anon secretly desired the appearance of a being capable of defeating him. He concluded that if such an opponent did not exist, he would rather destroy the heavens, hell, and the human world to be alone in the void. This desire is the driving force behind his actions, transforming him from a simple tyrant into a character seeking an end to his own isolation through ultimate conflict.

In the story, Anon first demonstrates his overwhelming power by effortlessly defeating Robert Haydn, a 10-star celestial who was previously considered one of the strongest beings, and then devouring him to absorb his abilities. He later consumes a god and uses this power to create a floating battlefield called the Aerial Garden, where he establishes the final tournament with a simple rule: defeat him within twelve hours, or he will destroy everything. Throughout these events, he systematically retires members of Ueki's team, not out of malice but to push Ueki to grow stronger, effectively cultivating his own eventual opponent.

His key relationships are primarily antagonistic. His connection to Robert Haydn is that of a predator who consumes the celestial for his power. His relationship with Margaret, who is revealed to be a fake, is one of a tool used by his father, who initially failed in a rebellion against god and used his son as a substitute. His central dynamic is with Ueki, who he sees as the potential answer to his wish. Throughout their battle, Anon uses the sacred treasures and powers he has absorbed, but he is ultimately defeated by Ueki’s sheer willpower and refusal to give up.

Anon’s development is subtle but crucial. While he appears as a villain intent on destruction, his defeat reveals a layer of profound exhaustion and loneliness. After losing to Ueki, he confesses that his true, deepest wish was for someone to overcome him, as he had become a monster with no equal. This revelation reframes his rampage not just as a quest for annihilation, but as a desperate, twisted search for a worthy adversary and, through defeat, a form of peace. In the end, he is sent back to hell, with the implication that he will not return to the human world.

Regarding his abilities, Anon's most notable power is his superhuman physical prowess, which alone allowed him to defeat Robert Haydn in minutes. He possesses the unique ability to devour other beings, absorbing their powers and even altering his own physical form and voice to match them. By consuming Robert and a god, he gains access to powerful sacred treasures, including a level 10 sacred treasure known as Maoh, a summoned creature whose power is linked to the user's will. However, his use of these absorbed powers is limited by the original user's constraints, such as the number of times a treasure can be summoned. Without a devoured being inside him, he reverts to his base state as a hell man with no special abilities other than his formidable physical strength.
