Mikami Hojo is a female Tera Guardian belonging to the Ginko Clan. She has long red hair and green eyes. Her contractee is an elderly human named Shingo, whom she cares for deeply. In order to obtain the medicine that Shingo requires to survive, Mikami works as a hired operative for the Kaionji Group, often carrying out tasks that involve combat or assassination.

Mikami is pragmatic and fiercely protective of Shingo, viewing her contract with him as a bond of love rather than mere obligation. This motivation drives her to accept morally ambiguous work, including kidnapping and fighting other Tera Guardians. She initially appears as an antagonist when she abducts Keita Ibuki on orders from Hiyou, intending to force Kuro into a confrontation. During that encounter, she engages Kuro in a fistfight, using her Exceed ability to enhance her physical strength and defense. However, the battle ends abruptly when Shingo collapses and dies from advanced age and illness. Grief-stricken and no longer bound by the need for medicine, Mikami ceases fighting and allows Kuro and Keita to leave.

Later, in the OVA Kurokami: Tora to Tsubasa, Mikami forms a new contract with Excel, who seeks revenge against Reishin. This shows her capacity to adapt and form new alliances when her previous purpose is lost.

Mikami’s most notable ability is her Exceed, which fortifies her physical attributes, increasing both offensive power and defensive resilience. This makes her a formidable hand-to-hand combatant, capable of matching other high-level Tera Guardians. Her appearance is sometimes likened to a white tiger, reflecting her fierce and graceful fighting style.

Throughout the story, Mikami’s character develops from a ruthless hired enforcer into a more neutral figure who prioritizes her personal bonds over clan or organizational loyalties. Her relationship with Shingo is central to her identity, and his death marks a turning point that allows her to reconsider her path.
