Beyond his solemn duty, Anubis pursues mummification recreationally, crafting miniature wrapped dolls. His activities extend into the mortal world, where he joins other deities for tasks like rice planting. He occasionally enjoys instant pizza deliveries arranged by Horus.

Anubis shares an exceptionally close bond with Thoth, the god of wisdom. They are nearly inseparable companions across both seasons, only parting in rare instances like Thoth aiding Horus. Their friendship faces a brief rupture in Season 2 during an argument over an egg, requiring hypnosis-induced sleep to reconcile. Medjed frequently completes their trio, guarding the judgment hall queue and overseeing unjudged souls when Anubis departs.

Anubis actively participates in divine group gatherings. He attends New Year celebrations featuring talent contests and Sa-ta's performances, and attempts daring physical feats like jumping from swings alongside fellow gods – actions the narration notes are permissible only for deities.
