Description
Ayano Fujikawa is the aunt of the protagonist Yamato Akitsuki and the mother of his younger cousin, Miho Fujikawa. She serves as the landlady of a women's dormitory that also houses a public bathhouse, a property she manages. It is in this dormitory that she provides a room for Yamato, allowing him to stay rent-free in exchange for performing cleaning duties around the facilities. She also offers him meals, often cooking for both her nephew and the resident Suzuka Asahina.

Ayano is characterized by her warm and supportive nature. She maintains a close relationship with her tenants, taking a genuine interest in their lives and expressing pride in their personal accomplishments. Her role in the story is largely that of a stable, caring guardian figure for Yamato after his parents entrust her with his care while he attends high school in Tokyo. She creates a home-like environment that serves as the central setting for many interactions between the main characters.

Regarding her personal background, it is revealed by Yamato's mother that Ayano's marriage was an elopement. Although her husband has passed away, Ayano continues to wear her wedding band as a sign of her enduring commitment and memory of him. Her key relationships are primarily defined by her familial role as an aunt and her professional role as a landlady. She is the authority figure of the dormitory, but her demeanor is more maternal than strictly businesslike. Physically, she is described as a woman of average stature with brown hair and brown eyes.

While Ayano does not undergo a significant character arc herself, her role is static and dependable. She provides the essential logistical and emotional foundation that allows the younger characters to navigate their own romances and personal growth. Her notable abilities are her managerial skills in running a dormitory and bathhouse, as well as her culinary skill, which she frequently uses to care for the young people under her roof. She is a constant, supportive presence rather than a driver of the central dramatic conflicts.
