TV-Series
Description
Max Carson, known in the original Japanese as Matsuno Kuusuke, is a supporting character in the Inazuma Eleven series. He is a student at Raimon Junior High and initially joins the school's soccer club when it has only seven members, attracted by the sport as a way to cure his boredom. Over time he develops a genuine enjoyment for football and remains with the team through the Football Frontier tournament. His background shows him to be multi-talented, having played various sports, which contributes to his well-rounded abilities on the pitch. He is often seen wearing a distinctive striped plush hat with cat ears. As a player, Max is versatile, serving as a forward in the games and a midfielder in the anime. He possesses several special techniques, including Cross Drive and Quick Draw as individual moves, and combination techniques such as Revolution V with his teammate Handa, and Dark Phoenix with Kazemaru and Someoka, both of which are powered by the Aliea meteorite. In terms of personality, Max appears somewhat frivolous and lighthearted, often serving as comic relief, but he has a warm heart and genuinely cares for his friends. He is loyal to the team and shows a strong sense of camaraderie. His role in the story is that of a dependable supporting player who contributes to Raimon's strength. He undergoes a notable period when he is briefly part of the Dark Emperors, a shadowy team, before returning to Raimon. Later, he is a candidate for the national team Inazuma Japan but is not ultimately selected, representing a point of development as he faces the disappointment of not making the cut. Despite this, he continues to support his teammates. His relationships are primarily with the core Raimon members, especially those who joined early, and he shares a close bond with the team's captain, Mark Evans, as well as with players like Handa and Kazemaru. His development is subtle, showing growth from a casual participant to a committed player who values team success over personal glory.
