Fuusuke Suzuno, also known by his alien identity Gazel, is a forward and the captain of the Aliea Academy team Diamond Dust. His character is defined by a cool and composed exterior, marked by a level of arrogance and overconfidence in his own exceptional abilities as a soccer player. He is described as a genius and a prodigy on the field. A notable mannerism is his habit of combing his hair back with his fingers, especially when irritated or frustrated during a match.

Suzuno has a pale complexion, a slender build, and distinctive light-gray hair that is swept to the left, paired with teal-colored eyes. A consistent visual trait is his preference for rolling up the sleeves of his team uniform, which he does even as a captain, often forgoing the captain's armband as a result.

His personality is presented as the direct opposite of his rival, Nagumo Haruya (Burn), who has a fiery and hot-headed nature. While Suzuno is generally calm, his arrogance can lead to friction. Despite their mutual animosity and constant arguments over who is superior, this rivalry is a driving force for both. Their inherent animosity is later set aside, showcasing a complex connection where they can form a powerful partnership when they combine their teams to create Chaos, the strongest team in Aliea Academy.

In the story, Suzuno first emerges as a formidable opponent for Raimon, threatening to destroy Tokyo with special soccer balls to force a match. He wields powerful ice-based techniques. His signature shoot is Northern Impact, a move that freezes the ground around him before launching a frozen strike at the goal. After his initial match as captain of Diamond Dust results in a draw, he joins forces with Nagumo to form Chaos. As part of this duo, he develops a combination hissatsu with Nagumo called Fire Blizzard.

Following the Aliea Academy arc, Suzuno undergoes notable development. He is recruited by Aphrodi to join the Korean national team, Fire Dragon, alongside his rival Nagumo. His time on Fire Dragon tempers his arrogance significantly; he becomes much more friendly and approachable, demonstrating a change in tone when interacting with opponents like Inazuma Japan. During his time with this team, he elevates his abilities further by mastering a triple combination hissatsu with Aphrodi and Nagumo known as Chaos Break.

In terms of his abilities, Suzuno is a highly skilled striker whose techniques revolve around the element of ice and wind. His playing style relies on cool and calculated tactics to freeze out the opposition. Beyond his solo techniques, his key relationships directly improve his combat capabilities, as his most powerful moves—Fire Blizzard (with Nagumo) and Chaos Break (with Nagumo and Aphrodi)—are born from his dynamic with these specific players.
