Description
An Oohara is a secondary character in Asura Cryin' who serves as a childhood friend and classmate of the protagonist, Tomoharu Natsume, whom she affectionately calls Tomo. She has a bright and assertive personality, often taking the initiative in her interactions with Tomoharu. An is portrayed as a lively and somewhat headstrong girl; for instance, she strongly disapproved of Tomoharu joining the Science Club because she wanted him to join a different club alongside her. Underneath her energetic exterior, she harbors romantic feelings for Tomoharu, though in the primary narrative of the Second World, she struggles to express these true emotions directly.

An’s primary motivation is her genuine affection for Tomoharu and her desire for a reciprocal relationship with him. Her role in the story becomes deeply intertwined with the complex parallel worlds narrative. While she is a close friend in the main timeline, her character is most fully explored through the events of the alternate First World. In that reality, An and the First World's Tomoharu were much closer, and she bravely confessed her feelings to him, asking him to spend Christmas Eve with her alone. However, before he could answer, the First World's Tomoharu was forced to leave his world to save it and Misao, leaving An’s confession forever unanswered as he ultimately perished in the Second World.

This unresolved confession becomes the focal point of An's development when Tomoharu from the Second World travels to the First World. There, An confronts him, desperately demanding an answer to her long-ignored confession, sensing that if she did not ask at that moment, she would never have the chance. This encounter forces a poignant resolution to her arc. The Second World Tomoharu, realizing he is not the person she fell in love with and that the original Tomoharu is dead, decides to give An a proper rejection for her sake. He introduces Kanade Takatsuki as his girlfriend, allowing An to finally receive an answer, albeit a painful one, and to find closure by running off in tears. This act demonstrates Tomoharu's care for her feelings, as he felt it was the least he could do for the girl his other self had left behind. Regarding abilities, An Oohara does not possess any special powers or supernatural combat abilities; she is an ordinary human throughout the series.
