Description
Madoka Wakamatsu, whose real name is Chisato Kurebayashi, is a professional singer and a rival to the protagonist Mitsuki Koyama in her stage persona as Full Moon. Madoka is a talented performer who initially appears as a confident and ambitious celebrity, but beneath that surface lies a deep insecurity. She underwent plastic surgery to attain the beauty expected of a public figure, a decision that caused her family to disown her. This background leaves her feeling vulnerable and drives much of her behavior in the music industry.

Her personality is marked by competitiveness and jealousy toward Full Moon, whom she first encounters at an idol audition. Madoka attempts to discourage Full Moon from pursuing a singing career, and later, when she overhears that Full Moon wants to sing the song Eternal Snow, Madoka deliberately records her own version first in hopes of preventing Full Moon from performing it. Despite this rivalry, Madoka also forms a separate friendship with the twelve-year-old Mitsuki, unaware at first that Mitsuki and Full Moon are the same person. This dual relationship highlights a more complex side of her character: she can be genuinely kind on a personal level even as she acts as a professional adversary.

Madoka's motivations are rooted in a desire for validation and success. She wants to prove herself in an industry where she feels constantly upstaged. Her songs are technically proficient, but she initially lacks the emotional sincerity that Mitsuki brings to her performances. This gap between technical skill and heartfelt expression is a recurring tension for her character. Over the course of the story, Madoka grows beyond pure rivalry. She eventually performs her version of Eternal Snow at Full Moon's final live concert, showing a shift from antagonism to a form of mutual respect. In the manga, her personal development culminates in her marrying Nachi, indicating a resolution of her earlier insecurities and a move toward a more stable, happy life.

Madoka's notable abilities center on her singing talent. She has a strong voice and a polished stage presence, and she is capable of producing commercially successful music. Her version of Eternal Snow, known as the Diamond Dust Remix, stands as a key example of her work. While she begins the story as an obstacle for the protagonist, her role evolves into that of a supporting figure who, despite her flaws, ultimately contributes to the world of the series by participating in Full Moon's final concert and finding her own path forward.
