Description
Kokkoro is an elven girl who serves as a guide and caretaker for the protagonist, Yuuki, from the moment he awakens with no memories in the land of Astrum. She is a member of the Gourmet Guild and holds the title of one of the Seven Crowns, a position inherited from her father. Her real name is Kokoro Natsume. At eleven years old, she stands 140 centimeters tall and weighs 35 kilograms. She has short white hair, pink eyes, and elf ears. Her typical attire includes a green and white dress with gold trim, a teal sash, and detached sleeves, and she often wears a white flower in her hair. She carries a long lance with a bright blue gem as her weapon.
Kokkoro’s personality is gentle, calm, polite, and deeply devoted. She speaks in a formal and respectful manner, especially toward Yuuki, whom she calls “my lord.” She is sincere and caring, always attentive to the needs of others, and takes her role as a guide very seriously. She enjoys meditation and tending to plants and animals, which reflects her connection to nature and spirits. She has a shy and reserved side but gradually becomes more confident and outgoing through her adventures.
Her primary motivation is to fulfill her duty as a guide and to support Yuuki and her friends. She was prepared from childhood for this purpose, having communed with spirits in anticipation of meeting him. Her devotion is unwavering, and she derives happiness from serving and protecting those she cares about.
In the story, Kokkoro is the first person Yuuki meets after his memory loss. She takes on the role of his navigator, teaching him about the world, combat, and daily life. Together with Pecorine and Karyl, she forms the Gourmet Guild, a group dedicated to exploring and enjoying food. Kokkoro often acts as the moral center and emotional anchor of the group, providing support and stability. Her combat role is as a midguard, using her lance and magic to enhance her allies’ attack power and heal them. She fights with agility and grace, and her abilities become stronger as her bond with Yuuki deepens.
Key relationships include her bond with Yuuki, whom she serves with absolute loyalty; Pecorine, the cheerful and gluttonous leader of the guild; Karyl, the cat-eared mage who initially is prickly but becomes a trusted friend; and other guild members they meet along the way. Kokkoro’s relationship with Yuuki is particularly close—she has looked forward to caring for him since childhood and considers her service a great honor.
Throughout the series, Kokkoro experiences significant personal growth. She begins as a somewhat hesitant guide, unsure of her own strength, but gradually develops confidence in her abilities and learns to embrace her unique strengths. Her determination to protect her friends and her growing self-assurance mark her development. She also learns to open up emotionally and form deeper bonds with those around her.
Notable abilities include her Union Burst, which boosts the physical and magical attack of all allies while restoring her own health. Her skills also allow her to heal the team, provide temporary buffs, and deal physical damage to enemies. She possesses a unique connection to spirits, which enhances her magical power and support capabilities. As the story progresses, she gains more powerful forms that provide sustained healing and attack buffs, further solidifying her role as a versatile support character.
