Description
Koyomi Hare Nanaka is a native of the world of Seiren, a realm with a predominantly female population. She works as a dimensional security enforcer and agent for Seiren's Space Travel Agency. Her father was born on Earth and traveled to Seiren after encountering her mother, who possessed a Seikon mark similar to those found on certain other individuals from that world. Koyomi herself carries a dormant version of the same mark, though its potential remains suppressed by a deep-seated lack of self-confidence.
Her defining trait is an intense, paralyzing fear of men. This androphobia makes any contact with males, even simple conversation, extremely difficult. The phobia is exacerbated by the unwanted attention she receives from Kazuharu Fukuyama, who singles her out as a frequent target of his aggressive behavior. In the manga, she documents these encounters in a diary, keeping a record of how often he accosts her. Unlike some other characters in the story, her fear does not manifest as a physical rash; it is purely psychological.
Despite her fears, Koyomi is highly intelligent and displays a gentle, shy nature. Her low self-esteem leads her to view herself as incompetent, particularly regarding her responsibilities toward Maharu Sena Kanaka, though her friends hold a much more favorable opinion of her. She enjoys reading as a favorite pastime and possesses a natural aptitude for table tennis, having once won a tournament in a similar sport on Seiren.
Her initial arrival on Earth stems from a mission to retrieve Miharu Sena Kanaka, who had accidentally traveled there. During transit, Koyomi suffered a mild case of amnesia that delayed her work, but after regaining her memories she successfully helped Miharu return to Seiren peacefully. Later, when Miharu began missing Yukinari Sasaki, Koyomi accompanied her back to Earth, along with Tomoka and unexpectedly Ebi. This time, her official task was to assist in finding a husband for Maharu. She subsequently moved into Yukinari's household for this extended mission.
Throughout the story, her primary motivation is to fulfill her duties to Maharu, yet her androphobia constantly obstructs her efforts. Any interaction with men becomes a struggle, and her fear of Fukuyama in particular is a recurring source of distress. While she remains a supporting figure, her presence contributes to the daily dynamics of the household, and her dormant Seikon mark hints at an untapped potential that could awaken if she were to overcome her insecurities.
