Description
The Musha Gundam featured in the fourteenth episode of Gundam Evolve, titled Rekka Musha Gundam, is a super-deformed, anthropomorphic mobile suit set in a fantastical feudal Japanese-inspired world distinct from the more realistic settings of other Gundam Evolve shorts. This version is a heroic warrior who defends the land of Ark from evil forces. He is characterized as being hot-blooded and impulsive, often acting before thinking, yet he is also deeply compassionate and holds great respect for courage and courtesy. His primary motivation is to protect the innocent and uphold justice, which drives him to confront the bandit leader Mazaku after the villain steals the Scroll of Light. In the story, he serves as the central protagonist and the leader of a group known as the Seven of Light Gundam team. He is considered the strongest among the young warriors of his world, and his fighting style is that of a noble samurai, relying on skill and determination. A key relationship is with the three young children he meets at a teahouse, whom he informs about his quest, and who later play a role in aiding him. His development in the episode revolves around a setback: after initially defeating Mazaku's minions, he is easily overwhelmed when Mazaku uses the stolen scroll to transform into the gigantic Hadou Musha Mazaku. He is defeated, but the children's intervention helps turn the tide, allowing him to ultimately triumph. Notable abilities include his proficiency with a katana and naginata in close-quarters combat, as well as his courage and leadership qualities. Unlike the standard Gundam Evolve episodes that use CGI, this short employs a cel-shaded, stylized aesthetic to match its super-deformed setting.
