Description
Queen Sharn of Deltora appears in the anime adaptation of Deltora Quest as the rightful queen living in hiding. She is an adult woman with blue eyes and purple hair that reaches chest length. She was the thirteenth royal consort and a queen of Deltora, the wife of King Endon, and the mother of Lief, the true heir to the throne. When the Shadow Lord invaded Deltora and scattered the seven gems of the Belt of Deltora, Sharn gave up her royal identity and took the name Anna so that she could hide in the city of Del as the wife of a blacksmith. In this disguise she helped raise Lief as an ordinary boy, keeping the secret of his royal birth to protect him from the Shadow Lord.

Her central motivation is the safety of her son and the restoration of Deltora. Though she stays in the background during the main quest to recover the gems, her willingness to conceal Lief's identity is essential to that plan. She is characterized by quiet courage, selflessness, and a deep sense of duty, and she endures years of exile without revealing the truth. Her key relationships are with King Endon, her husband, from whom she is separated during the invasion; with Lief, her son, whom she protects and later supports; and with Jarred, a loyal friend of the royal family who helps carry out the deception and poses as Lief's father. Barda, a former palace guard, also becomes a trusted ally in the effort to restore the kingdom.

After the Shadow Lord is banished, Sharn is revealed as Lief's mother and reunited with him. She then becomes a trusted adviser to the new king, drawing on her knowledge of the court and her long experience of sacrifice. She has no magical abilities; her notable strengths are her discretion, endurance, and unwavering loyalty to her family and kingdom.
