Description
Raimei Shimizu is a fourteen-year-old student and self-styled samurai from the Shimizu clan, a family that traditionally served as guardians of the hidden world of Nabari. She is one of only two surviving members of the household, the other being her older brother Raikou, whom she holds responsible for the destruction of their family. Raimei witnessed the massacre when she was young and was afterwards taken in by the Fuuma Village, where she was raised and trained as a ninja. She later moved to Tokyo to continue her studies and at one point took English lessons from Tobari Kumohira. She is a blonde-haired girl with brown eyes who carries herself with a direct, spirited manner.
As a person, Raimei is energetic, outgoing, and determined, with strong convictions and little hesitation in expressing her emotions. She has a somewhat tomboyish character and a mischievous streak that she sometimes uses to get her way, though she is also sincere and loyal to those she cares about. One of her recurring quirks is a tendency to mistake people for someone else during encounters. Her personal tastes include a love of training, pastries, bossa nova music, and making desserts, while she notably dislikes flowers. She is often exasperated by Miharu's indifference and impish behavior, but she comes to value him as an important friend.
Raimei's central motivation is revenge against her brother Raikou. She is determined to kill him in a sword duel to avenge their family, and she originally stays close to Miharu Rokujou because she believes that associating with him will help her learn how to find Raikou. This practical arrangement gradually develops into genuine trust and friendship, and she eventually keeps Miharu's secret concerning his plan to grant Yoite's wish, a confidence that demonstrates how much she has come to rely on him.

Later, when the leader of the Fuuma Village, Kotarou Fuuma, is exposed as having secretly collaborated with the Grey Wolves, Raimei and Raikou renounce their allegiance to him and join Tobari in confronting him. Throughout the final conflict, she remains a steadfast ally of Miharu and his friends. In her personal life, she also receives a confession of romantic feelings from Kouichi Aizawa, though she gives him no answer at that time.
