Description
Rakshata Chawla is a supporting character in the anime Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion. She is an Indian scientist who serves as the head of research and development for the Black Knights, the resistance organization led by the masked strategist Zero. She is a tall woman with dark skin, long wavy light-blonde hair, and aquamarine eyes, and she wears a purple diamond-shaped bindi on her forehead. She is rarely seen without her trademark tobacco pipe and is often found lounging on a sofa, even during meetings aboard the Black Knights' flagship.
Rakshata was originally the world's leading authority in welfare cybernetics and medical prosthetics. During her student days she studied at the Imperial Colchester Institute in Britannia, where she was a contemporary of Lloyd Asplund and a senior to Cécile Croomy. She later turned to developing Knightmare Frames in the Military District of India, which was part of the Chinese Federation's territory. Her work there was driven by a desire to end war through her creations, an altruistic side of her that she does not often display openly. She developed the Guren Type-02 and its Radiant Wave Surger weapon, as well as the Gekka line of Knightmares and the Gefjun Disturber, a device based on her own original theories.
In personality, Rakshata is calm, laid-back, and often appears cool or carefree regardless of the situation. She is also direct and self-assured, with complete confidence in her engineering abilities, and she affectionately refers to her machines as her children, calling herself the mother of creations such as the Guren Type-02.
