Description
Ajman Tytania is the current head of the Tytania clan, holding the title of Landless Lord. This epithet reflects the clan’s unique and paradoxical position of power: while the family possesses no territory of its own, it wields absolute control over the Empire of Valdana through immense economic might and overwhelming military force. As the clan lord, Ajman is the ultimate decision-maker for the galaxy's most powerful dynasty, though his leadership style is notably passive and enigmatic.

In terms of personality, Ajman is characterized by a detached and hands-off approach to governance. He rarely takes direct action or offers his own opinions, preferring instead to observe the maneuvers of his subordinates and let events unfold. This has led to a perception that he never does anything for himself, instead allowing his four dukes to scheme and clash as they position themselves as potential successors. Despite this passivity, he maintains an air of authority and inscrutability, giving the impression that his seeming indifference may be a calculated form of mischief or a deeper political strategy. He appears calm, composed, and often fades into the background during meetings, letting the more flamboyant dukes take center stage.

Ajman’s primary role in the story is as the distant patriarch of the Tytania family and the final arbiter of clan affairs. He presides over the rivalries between the four dukes: Jouslain, Idris, Zarlish, and Ariabart. The narrative often depicts him listening to their reports and disputes, occasionally issuing judgments or assigning tasks that shape the political landscape. His motivations are difficult to discern, but he appears primarily concerned with the stability and longevity of the clan’s dominance. He seems willing to tolerate internal ambition and even rebellion, provided it ultimately serves the interests of Tytania or allows him to observe which of his subordinates is most capable.

His key relationships are defined by hierarchy and political utility. He is the superior to whom all four dukes must answer, and his potential choice of an heir is a central source of tension. Among the dukes, he shows a particular interest in Jouslain, often assigning him delicate tasks such as acting as the vice-commander for a major military operation or serving as the caretaker for the troublesome Princess Lydia. He also maintains a watchful eye over his own extended family, including his stepbrother, Estrades Tytania, the Minister of War, whom he suspects of plotting a coup. To counter this threat, Ajman demonstrates his subtle ruthlessness by ordering that Estrades’s son, Balami, be taken as a hostage and assigned to the front lines of a dangerous battle. This action reveals that beneath his languid exterior, Ajman is fully capable of cold, political calculation.

Throughout the anime, Ajman shows little in the way of dramatic personal development, remaining a constant and somewhat cryptic figure at the top of the Tytania hierarchy. His presence is a stabilizing, if frustrating, force for the ambitious dukes beneath him. Regarding notable abilities, Ajman is not depicted as a military commander or a warrior. His power is entirely positional and political; his notable ability is his authority to delegate, to pit his rivals against each other, and to remain an unreadable figure at the apex of power. His strengths lie in political manipulation and the strategic withholding of his own intentions.
