Description
Gumchi, an extraterrestrial entity formed from yellow gum-like matter, arrived on Earth within a meteor centuries ago. The impact site birthed Iga Village, where ancestral shinobi enshrined the being, establishing a lineage of guardians—including Kappei’s family—to shield it from those coveting its latent powers.

Its physique mirrors a pliable gum globule, boasting a rounded head, segmented lower body, and a face adorned with a dark purple mask-like marking framing magenta eyes. Prominent buck teeth and a gum-based third "tooth" complete its visage. A purple shuriken emblem rests on its torso, while white socks and brown-and-purple geta sandals clothe its feet. A kendo stick is perpetually strapped to its back.

Gumchi exudes playful curiosity, vocalizing through garbled sounds and indulging others by stretching or compressing its form—a habit that belies its strategic intellect. When Iga Village faced invasion, it shapeshifted into an ippon katana, empowering Kappei to repel attackers. This unveiled its weapon-morphing ability, later employed in Komerica against space ninjas, extraterrestrial foes who assimilate powers via consumption.

Anime archives identify Gumchi as originally named Dangochi, its meteor a remnant of a homeworld annihilated by space ninjas. These pursuers tracked it to Earth, entangling Gumchi in clashes between cosmic invaders and organizations like the World Ninja Association.

Across narratives, Gumchi’s bond with Kappei drives its integration into human life. Though aspects of its origins and capacities remain undefined, its protective loyalty and extraterrestrial-derived strength persist. The torso shuriken and weapon-shifting aptitude imply connections to shinobi heritage, yet these ties linger unexplored, echoing the enigma of its gum-based existence.
