TV-Series
Description
Kilari Tsukishima is a fourteen-year-old girl who serves as the central character of her story. Physically, she is described as having light brown hair and sky blue eyes, standing 157 centimeters tall. Her birthday is July 7, making her a Cancer, and her blood type is O.

Regarding her background, Kilari was raised by her father, Tsukishima Takashi, as she does not know her mother for much of her early life, though this does not seem to trouble her deeply. Her father later opens a café named after her, the Kirarin Café, which becomes popular thanks to her fame.

In terms of personality, Kilari is characterized as clumsy, determined, and kind. Her most defining trait at the beginning is her immense love for food, which is so all-consuming that it often scares away boys despite her beauty. She is also notably bad at household chores like cooking and cleaning, a deficiency made more apparent by her pet cat Na-san, who is remarkably skilled at them. Initially, she cares about little other than eating until a fateful encounter with a boy named Seiji changes her life. After rescuing Seiji's turtle, she falls in love with him upon seeing his face. Upon discovering that Seiji is actually a member of the popular idol group SHIPS, she becomes determined to become an idol herself to get closer to him, though she eventually discovers a genuine passion for being an idol.

Kilari has some unique and unusual traits. She possesses a strange ability to make things, especially food, look like mushrooms, though the results often taste good. She also learns to play the electric guitar. Her singing voice is initially very poor, a trait she is said to have inherited from her grandmother, but after intense training with her cat Na-san, she improves significantly throughout the series. She also has the ability to understand the language of animals.

Her role in the story is that of a rising idol who forms part of several groups. She is a member of the duo KiraPika with Mizuki Hikaru, and later a member of the trio Milky Way with Yukino Noel and Hanasaki Cobeni.

Key relationships define much of her journey. Her pet cat Na-san is her closest confidant and protector, and she often tells him her feelings; he is deeply affectionate towards her and even transforms into a human in one episode. Her first love interest is Hiwatari Seiji, the gentle member of SHIPS whose kindness and mysterious smile are constants. Over time, her feelings shift towards Kazama Hiroto, the other member of SHIPS, who is more direct and teasing but deeply protective of her. Her relationship with Hiroto begins poorly when he tears up her concert ticket, but they soon become friends and eventually fall in love. In the anime, they share a sort of confession, while in the manga, they officially date and share a kiss. Her manager, Kumoi Kasumi, initially thinks Kilari has no chance as an idol but grows to respect her passion, and they become friends. Her father is her number one fan, initially overprotective but eventually supportive of her career. Her mother, Luna Tsukishima, is revealed to be an actress who left the family to pursue her dreams; when she asks Kilari to come to Hollywood with her, Kilari declines, choosing to stay with her friends and continue as an idol. She also has an older brother, Subaru, who lives in New York and initially becomes jealous of her success. She forms strong friendships and rivalries with other idols, including Hikaru, Noel, Cobeni, and Fubuki.

Kilari's development throughout the story is significant. She evolves from a food-obsessed girl who only wants to be an idol to get closer to a boy into a dedicated performer who genuinely loves the entertainment world and aims to make her fans happy. Her feelings mature as she transitions from her crush on Seiji to a deeper love for Hiroto. She also helps many of her rivals and friends overcome their own insecurities and fears, such as helping Hikaru with her stage fright or convincing Noel and Cobeni to join her group. By the end of the series, she achieves the title of Diamond Queen.

As for notable abilities, beyond her strange mushroom-shaped cooking and eventual singing prowess, she is resilient and has an unwavering spirit that helps her persevere despite her lack of natural talent and common sense. She is also a capable electric guitar player.
