TV-Series
Description
Hiroto Kazama is one of the main characters in the story and a member of the popular idol group SHIPS. He is fifteen years old, with a birthday on June 10, making his zodiac sign Gemini. He stands approximately 168 to 170 centimeters tall, has a blood type of A, and enjoys foods like grilled meat and cooked pork. At the age of twelve, he formed SHIPS with his best friend, Seiji Hiwatari, and began his career as an idol.

In his personal life, Hiroto is the eldest of five brothers and takes on significant domestic responsibilities, caring for his younger siblings while his mother is away. This role has made him notably resourceful, as he is skilled at cooking and sewing, even creating outfits that the protagonist Kirari envisions for her performances.

Personality-wise, Hiroto is characterized by his brutally honest and sometimes harsh demeanor. He frequently teases Kirari and is not afraid to tell her when she is being naive or foolish, serving as a grounding force that pushes her to face reality and work harder for her goals. Despite this sharp exterior, he is deeply caring and often the first person to help Kirari when she encounters difficulties, showing a softer, more protective side beneath his snarky attitude.

His role in the story is central as a love interest and a mentor figure to Kirari. Initially, he looks down on her for wanting to become a celebrity without understanding the industry. However, as he witnesses her determination and growth, his perception changes, and he begins to develop romantic feelings for her, even though he initially believes she is in love with Seiji. This internal conflict defines much of his development, as he struggles between his own feelings and his support for what he thinks Kirari wants. His relationship with Seiji is that of a close best friend and bandmate; they have known each other since their debut, and Seiji is often aware of Hiroto's true feelings, eventually encouraging him to act on them.

Hiroto's motivations are largely tied to his responsibilities as an idol and his personal relationships. He seeks to support Kirari's career while managing the demands of his own group. A notable part of his background involves a childhood friend named Izumi Amakawa, to whom he once made a promise to become an idol. The breaking of this promise leads to later complications and media scandals when they reunite. He also has a friendly rivalry with a character named Cloudy, who appears in the third season.

Among his notable abilities, beyond his talents as a performer, Hiroto is remarkably skilled at household chores, specifically cooking and sewing. He often uses these skills to help Kirari, such as when he assists her in making a dress for a competition. He is also portrayed as a stabilizing presence, acting as a spiritual support for Kirari and handling various crises that arise around her, often becoming the one who suffers or resolves the chaotic situations caused by the eccentric people in their lives. By the end of the story in the manga, Hiroto leaves for New York to study dance but returns to Japan to reunite with Kirari, eventually becoming her official boyfriend. In the anime, the conclusion sees them finally confess their feelings for each other in the final episode.
