Gio is a dragon created by the International Solarsystem Development Agency (ISDA), an organization that developed dragons as part of its operations. His origins are directly tied to the agency, and he was assigned to become the partner of Kazuki Tachibana after Kazuki successfully resonated with Gio in his original dragon egg form. His name is not his original designation but a misreading of his code number, G10, by Kazuki, who interpreted the alphanumeric code as the name Gio.
In terms of personality, Gio is characterized by his independence and unwavering sense of purpose. Although he is officially partnered with Kazuki, he does not take orders from him and shows little interest in that relationship. His primary concern and the central motivation for nearly all his actions is Toa, a female dragon whom he states he was born to protect.
